There are so many things about this story that deeply disturb me. I am really not sure where to begin. However I think the fact that 1500 people were watching what was occuring and it took their collective sense of humanity several hours to initiate contact with the police is about as bad as it gets.

This is not new, sport. Do I not recall a story from years ago about, I believe, a young woman being raped and a "neighborhood" watching and listening, and doing nothing. So very little has changed. And THAT may be even more depressing than your conclusion that we are CURRENTLY a "very sick society".
And then there's the Romans, watching folks being eaten alive.
Thumbs down, dude!
